Over the last week or two I read The Reckoners series: 3.5 books about superpowers appearing on Earth when an event called Calamity occurred. Unfortunately for humanity, the people that gain these powers usually become villains, because absolute power corrupts absolutely.
It's a set of 3 books: Steelheart (5/5); Firefight (3/5); Calamity (3/5), and one short story called Mitosis (2/5). I found the first book the best, where it got by with a pretty engaging story and some nice little twists. The books after dwelled onto a larger story, but it didn't feel as put together a tale as the other story. So I'd recommend the first book if you like superhero stuff, and if you want to keep going you can read the other content out there. 3/5 Overall. 3/5
