These are some metrics for my movie reviews. This way how I'm reviewing things
has some additional perspective.
Average Ratings
- Average Review I gave in a year. This line indicates
all times I've been able to identify when I've done a review - this could
be only ratings (when I was tracking ratings on IMDb for instance), or full
on reviews (like things now).
- Average Review for Items of a Given Year. This line
indicates the average review for everything I've reviewed of a given year, so
there will be a larger swing with the older reviews, because chances are
I've only reviewed one or two films from that timeframe.
Number of Reviews
- Number of Items Reviewed for a Given Year. This is
the count of items from a given year that I've reviewed. It's slanted
more to the newer things because there's a lot more recent stuff
accessible than older things.
Number of Reviews
- Number of Items Reviewed in a Given Year. This is
the count of items I've reviewed in a given year. Since I watch movies in
theaters sometimes, that means some percentage of movies I review will be from
the same year.
Average Rating of my Reviews
Number of Items Reviewed in a Given Year.
Generally, my rating system plays out along these lines:
- An awful experience of a film is a 1-2/10
- A film that is poor or boring is 3-4/10
- A standard eh kind of film is a 5-6/10 (a lot of solid action films are 6/10).
- a good overall film is a 7-8/10
- an excellent film between a 9-10/10.
So my expectation for a given year is in the 7/10 rating area.
