A Ship to India (1947)

A Ship to India (1947), another Ingmar Bergman joint as it were, is about a man reminiscing about his terrible father, I guess that's the heart of this story. The son, Johannes, reflects on his time with his father salvaging boats and leading a double life, pining for an entertainer named Sally (that he also takes an interest in).

This was an interesting film: dark and brooding, with characters you could both empathize with and loathe at the same time. It has some sluggish parts, but I think this film holds its own even to this day. 7/10. 7/10
