I heard a lot about Amadeus, but this was another I wouldn't muster the interest to sit down and watch, if only because it's not a time period that particularly interests me. But in spite of 3 of its Academy Awards being in make-up, costume design and art dirction, it also managed 5 more, including best actor, picture, director and writing. It's also #87 on IMDb at this time, which is no minor feat either for a 30+ year film. So I couldn't ignore it forever as I try to watch through the top 250 (I have 27 left in the top 100 :-/ )
Now it's a drama - and a long one at 2h40m - but it still holds up incredibly well. If you have the patience and interest to sit through that kind of story, it's a fantastic film. 10/10
