Captain Marvel (2019)

Got to see Captain Marvel (2019) at Cinerama before it cycled out to Dumbo. It was a pretty solid superhero flick (as Disney/Marvel) does, and I think it's the first Marvel one with a woman headliner (DC beat them in comics altogether with Wonder Woman (2017), 6/10 I believe). After Brie Larson, other actors include Samuel L. Jackson, Jude Law, and Annette Bening.

Visually the film was really good, as expected for Disney - the company that can tries to revive young Jeff Bridges or deceased Peter Cushing. Story wise it was solid, but not really amazing. Though I really liked how Brie Larson's character had independence throughout the film: something I always felt was a weakness to Wonder Woman with Chris Pine's character as story catalyst.

I liked it, but it didn't really capture the drama of world destruction very well - the danger's pacing was a dial that was constantly being toggled for story progression. It was well paced in spite of that though, and the acting and action kept the story interesting. 7/10
