This season of Final Space wasn't quite a reset button, but it did have a lot of changes for the series. The cast was a little different, the ship was different, and the storyline also changed. Whereas the previous season was about saving the universe, this season was more of a scavenger hunt, while also going a little bit more into worldbuilding and character development (definitely adding some infrastructure for future seasons in the process).
Season 2 felt more organized, and all the episodes were part of telling the story. But while the first season had (in my opinion) weaker writing, it also was more dramatic in its risks than this season - very few things had the sense of finality that was in the first season.
