Ghostbusters (2016)

Tonight was Ghostbusters (2016)! I wasn't entirely sure what to expect when I heard the reviews: I generally heard positive things, but it was difficult to not hear negative reviews from the other side and wonder what was wrong with the film.

I thought it was a good film, and a very solid one at that. I found it humorous, with a well moving plot, and good special effects. The only true criticism I've seen is "it's not as good as the original". Personally I've seen the original and liked it, but I think comparing the two does a disservice to the franchise as a whole. My recommendation is to see it fresh and appreciate the film for what it is, which is a film that looked like a lot of fun to create. 8/10
