Today I watched Gosford Park (2001), a drama/mystery by Robert Altman starring Michael Gambon and Maggie Smith. When I saw it years ago I remembered it being a weird movie: billed as a mystery but not much of one, more of a case study on socialite/servant relationships of the 1930s. It was nominated for 7 Oscars in 2001 but only won best adapted screenplay, losing most of its other nominations to Moulin Rouge! and A Beautiful Mind. At the end of the day, it's a good movie, but it almost feels too dated for today's audience to have much interest - probably why it doesn't get much attention. I gave it a 7/10 in 2002, and that still stands. 7/10
