Hud (1963)

Hud (1963) is a western about a rancher family dealing with family tension and a potential cattle disease. Starring Paul Newman as Hud - a jerk of a son to the patriarch played by Melvyn Douglas, this film is overall a characher study. Sure there's a story here, but it's mainly watching how Newman's character deals with the situations around him. The character was directed to be an anti-hero to audiences, but the audience response to that was more nuanced. If you have the time to catch it it's an interesting movie to see, if only to know where you stand on that character... personally I didn't care for me that much though. Overall a good story/film though. 7/10
