Ikiru (1952)

Ikiru (1952) is a story about a lifelong bureaucrat coming to terms with having terminal cancer. I found it a very moving film, and builds strongly on the main character (Takashi Shimura) and his will to be alive in his last months (Ikiru, or 生ã??ã‚‹, meaning "To Live"). It also is a harsh criticism of government bureaucracy, which I didn't expect, but presented itself well in this film. This is an excellent film, and I may think even more of it in the future. 9/10
