I did finally get to see Moana (2016) last night. It's a good film with great music and amusing characters. The story goes at a good pace and the visuals are well done and what you'd expect from Disney. It suffers a little with the "Disney effect" I've been seeing - that pacing and formula familiarity that you feel as the film continues. This year's Zootopia (7/10) and Finding Dory (6/10) also suffered from it; Moana less so because it's music in particular keeps it fresh. At the end of the day I think I still prefer Kubo and the Two Strings (8/10) over Moana this year, but more because I'm more strongly influenced by visuals over music. 8/10
