Opera (1987) is a Scottish Horror/Crime style film that at its best is a cult status slasher movie. The plot is how an actress gets a chance to get a leading role in an opera playing Lady Macbeth, and seemingly becomes cursed as she is forced into watching her colleagues die by a psychopath. The direction and cinematography are off beat, but work for the movie well. The story changes wildly between strange crime mystery, interesting slasher, and incomprehensible drama, so don't try digging too deep there. Oh, and if you don't like body horror you may want to steer clear of this. It could be worse, but the director has a thing with eyes that can make some watchers a little squeamish. All in all a weird movie, but generally enjoyable and could get replays out of once in a while. 7/10
