Parasite is a film about a lower-class family slowly working their way into the lives of an upper-class one. It's a Korean film that's had a lot of (well-deserved) acclaim, and is the first foreign film to win the Palme d'Or at Cannes. It's nominated for 6 Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Director and Screenplay. At the time of this review it's the 26th top ranked movie on IMDb.
Outside of the brief summary at the top I knew nothing about the film, but holy cow this is above and beyond the best film I've seen from 2019. The story twists and turns at just the right places, and there's enough going on to make you uneasy that it really leaves an impression by the end. Part comedy, part drama, part commentary, and part horror, I highly recommend giving this a watch. 10/10
