Pokémon Detective Pikachu (2019)

I don't really know Pokemon outside of Pokemon Go (Pokemon is one of those hard generational divides I think) but I was curious to see this film. Personally... I found it verify vibrant and loud for a movie, with a lot that went on, but also never really going anywhere great. Some of the humor was good; the animation was average or lame depending on the scene. The characters were fine, the story was straightforward yet somewhat confusing at times. The main human characters were alright, the pokemon were more interesting but usually painful CG after a while to look at. If it got onto a streaming service in the future, maybe I'd play it in the background once in a while. 5/10
