Spotlight (2015)

6 April 2016

So one of my favorite films is All The President's Men (1976), starring Dustin Hoffman and Robert Redford. There are a few reasons for this: it's a historic drama film (and truth is more interesting than fiction); it's a well crafted film (in story pacing, acting and cinematography); and it's using a journalist perspective which in movies always fascinates me. I gave it a 10/10 back in 2009 when I added the rating into IMDb.
...When I saw Spotlight (2015), comparing the film to the classic film about the Watergate scandal was the first thing that came to mind, and I think Spotlight turned out to be the better movie in every way, which surprised me. This is definitely not a family film, but it crafted one of the best biographical stories I've seen in a long time. 10/10
