Star Trek Beyond (2016)

I liked the first Start Trek reboot film (8/10), and the sequel Into Darkness was OK (tentative 6/10, not formally review it on IMDb). So how's the third film?
Personally I thought it was in the same vein of Into Darkness - a good set of special effects with a fun but flimsy plot. Character dialog flipped back and forth between good writing and clumsy pandering (thankfully it got better as the film progressed).
To me though it felt like an homage or extension to its previous film (Into Darkness), which bothered me a lot. In the end there wasn't anything that new. Maybe there will be story growth in the future with the next film. 6/10
