Summer Interlude (1951) is an Ingmar Bergman film about a dancer's summer romance years ago, met with tragedy and repercussions for her later in life. I think this is one of his better films: visually it's pleasant whether it's conversations or dance routines, all those scenes stand out and really capture the emotion and intensity when needed; story-wise it's a little strange (there's a diary that serves as a catalyst for much of the film, though I don't always know if it mayes sense) but it does carry quite nicely between scenes. Characters are relatable and although not always pleasant aren't nasty to a point of poisoning the story (as I felt a few of Bergman's films have done). 9/10
