Tenet (2020)

I've been enjoying Christopher Nolan films a lot, whether they're mind-bending flicks like Inception or Memento, gritty epics like The Dark Knight Trilogy, or sensory experiences like Dunkirk. So I was really looking forward to Tenet, in spite of the world grinding to a halt with COVID-19.
I finally got to catch this over the weekend of my birthday. Basic premise is that the main character ("The Protagonist") is trying to stop the annihilation of humanity in a world where things are able to move backward in time. It's one of the more complicated stories out there, but it works well.
...The downside, however, is that the sound was really lopsided over the course of the film. This was bad enough that I had to adjust the volume over the course of the film - something I almost never do, and I did it several times over the course of the film. There's been discussion about this online, and the director has been defensive toward the criticism over his last four films. In this film it was actively annoying - if I watched this in theaters I may not have stayed. If you're going to see this film, you'll want to have subtitles on.
