The 39 Steps (1935)

Tonight I watched Hitchcock's "The 39 Steps" (1935), which in a lot of ways felt like a precursor to North By Northwest (and in a similar vein also to his films Notorious and The Lodger). While not as suave or acclaimed as North by Northwest, it was similar yet different enough to remain a pretty good film to catch (though of the time period I think i'd still recommend Rebecca or Shadow of a Doubt first). 8/10
