This evening I watched The Lighthouse (2019) starring Willem Dafoe and Robert Pattinson. It seemed older - not because it's black and white or a weird aspect ratio, but now because COVID is making a lot of things feel older than they are right now.
Anyways. This film is about the main characters starting a 4 well shift at a lighthouse, and slowly going crazy as the film progresses. Personally I think the film stands out most from the main characters: their styles of acting and approaches to acting create a lot of good tension that makes the film an entertaining watch. The writing/direction takes a back seat (I found it to be more an impression of a story than an actual story, and that ambiguousness was a little dull to me). So ultimately engaging acting but not as much of anything else. 7/10
