Train to Busan (2016)

18 November 2019

Train to Busan (2016) is a zombie movie, about an outbreak that occurs for a bunch of train passengers. It's fast paced, tense, with a couple jump scares and really unnerving effects (World War Z I believe did the waves of zombies - this is of similar effect).

It's a solid film, and better than World War Z (I watched it years ago and I think it was just ok - overrated for the zombie concepts than the story itself). It did the general man's-inhumanity-to-man exploiting that zombie films are wont to do, but it wasn't as contrived as it could've been. The only thing I didn't like was how characters wouldn't exploit the zombie weaknesses they learned about better (they added a race against the clock to hide the weaker bits of the story, and this was one of them). That said, it's one of the best zombie movies I've seen in a while. 8/10
