I'd never seen Trainspotting, but I found it's story mesmerizingly odd. While it feels a little dated (I think because of both the director Danny Boyle's not-yet-refined directing style and because of the 90s theme), it was an interesting film to watch, and definitely hacked its way through its story in an interesting way, oscillating between the humorous and uncomfortable. I don't think it's as good as his later films like 28 Days Later or Slumdog Millionaire, but it still feels like a clever film. 8/10
