Cowboy Bebop (1998)

There are some series that I only own a part of - because I follow a film belief that great stories have a beginning and end that don't need every I dotted or T crossed. This animation is a perfect example for me: I only ever owned the first disc (episodes 1-5) and I'm fine with that. Sure there are a few one-offs sprinkled in the 26 episode series, but most can be skipped. (Also personally I've always found Ed as comic relief, needed because the series was stretched out so long). The jazzy vibe and music Yoko Kanno provides to the soundtrack are in some ways the best takeaways from the series as a whole, and the music helps this series continue to stand apart from its contemporaries.
